History

Rum is an alcohol that has traveled a lot from the discovery of sugar cane to its trade around the globe today.

Long used for its sugar, rum was not a priority during the production of sugar cane.
In the 18th century when the distillation was improved and perfected, rum became a respectable liquor. Before that, rum was for a long time of poor quality and was intended for slaves sailors as well as pirates and filibusters. It's in the 20th century that he began to interest the upper classes of society and receive the notoriety that he deserves.

Design and shape

Apart from a few rare bottles as well as the rectangular format of the flasks, the rum bottles all keep the classic round shape that we know today. An atypical shape for a bottle that reminds of the pirate flag in the shape of an X as well as its prohibition in the United States in 1920 and the ban on free trade during the 18th century.
